Ashpark Primary School's boiler plant and flue had reached the end of their working life. The brief was a full renewal — strip out the ageing boilers and flue and replace them with a modern, efficient and resilient installation, built around a cascade of condensing boilers rather than a single large unit. That gives the school high efficiency across a wide load range and built-in redundancy, installed to current standards and handed over fully documented, all sequenced around the school.
Stein Group's mechanical team renewed the boiler plant with a cascade of high-efficiency wall-hung condensing boilers and installed a new flue system to suit. The boilers feed a low-loss header that separates the boiler and system circuits cleanly; a Grundfos pump set circulates the heating, a packaged pressurisation unit and expansion vessels hold the system stable, and an L-TEC control panel sequences the plant for efficient, staged operation.
New flue, gas train and system pipework were installed and tested throughout, and the plant room was set out as a clean, logical, maintainable installation — then commissioned and certified so the school inherited a fully evidenced boiler and flue renewal.
